The Central Bank of Nigeria has finalised plans to take the ‘Funding Nigeria SMEs’ initiative to three states.
The Bankers`Committee took this action.
It is also in line with the Federal Government`s commitment to fostering SMEs.
A representative of Sterling Bank, Abiodun Tomomero, said the committee would hold sensitisation workshops in three states.
Ibadan, Kaduna and Port Harcourt will host the workshops.
This workshop is expected to deepen the financial inclusion process on how SMEs could access funds through the ‘Funding Nigeria SMEs’ initiative.
Tomomero said the sensitisation workshop will hold in Ibadan on May 16. The subsequent workshops will follow in Kaduna on May 23, and in Port Harcourt on May 30.
This would be a follow-up to the earlier workshops held in Lagos, Kano and Aba.
Furthermore, he said experts from Deposit Money Banks (DMBs), CBN, Ease of doing Business Team, Bank of Agriculture (BOA), Bank of Industry (BOI) and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), would anchor the workshops.
