Access Bank Pledges More Funds For Women Entrepreneurs
Access Bank Plc has pledged to provide more financial assistance to women entrepreneurs. Hence, this will enable them to contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth.
The Deputy Group Managing Director, Access Bank Plc, Mr. Roosevelt Ogbonna, said this during a breakfast meeting with women entrepreneurs in Abuja.
According to him, the bank is committed to its empowerment drive for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
He said the meeting was designed to shape and broaden the business acumen of entrepreneurs towards a growth trajectory.
Ogbonna described women as very important to the development of the economy. He said, “At Access Bank, we are very supportive of women. Therefore, this initiative is one of such ways to show this support.”
According to him, the aim of the event was to support women who are in business. Consequently, they would thrive in their chosen areas of endeavour.
He said, “We have a gender empowerment programme launched in 2006. It was to support women and gave a commitment to grow 1,000 businesses above N1bn in turnover. Finally, I want to tell you that we have achieved that.”
